Details
We are looking from what is now West Linn across Willamette Falls towards the Oregon side of the river. This view by photographer Benjamin Gifford is recreated from a boudoir card, which states it was copyrighted in 1892.
At that time Gifford, who would later move to The Dalles, maintained his studio in downtown Portland. While he was over 30 years old, he was early in his photography career, which lasted till about 1920.
