Built to allow mill workers and their families to cross the Willamette while the new Arch Bridge between Oregon City and West Linn was under construction.
The temporary bridge was built upstream from the permanent bridge, at about Fourth Street in Oregon City. Above it can be seen the Elks Lodge and the wooden elevator, among other buildings.
