The beauty of Mt. Hood has attracted climbers for hundreds if not thousands of years. For equally long people have sometimes found themselves in trouble while negotiating a climb. In this postcard view by Ralph Eddy we can see a search party heading up the mountain. In the distance it appears there may be a second search party. The mountain looks calm at this point, but crevasses and loose rocks are always present.
