Drive belts run from a central electric motor to power the tools used to make cabinets in this northeast Portland shop at 1454 Sandy Blvd. The shop owner, Trygnve Wegen is at right. He and both of his employees immigrated from Norway. It appears a lot of plywood is being used, and it's interesting to note that plywood was actually invented in Portland in 1905, and initially used in door panel and cabinet making.
