Lake Merrill is now known as a regional fly-fishing lake, with limited campsites managed by the Washington Department of Natural Resources. Fairly small at 344 acres, the lake is located north of the Lewis River, southwest of Mt. St. Helens.
This view is printed from an original glass negative created by railroad worker Willis Vail, who likely was also visiting the lake to do some fishing.
