Flowers and Lace - Circa 1890

We do not know the identity of these two young women, but the photo was probably taken in Astoria, where photographer Samuel B. Crow had his studio.

The formality of their dresses and their hand-carried bouquets indicate this was a special occasion - perhaps a high school graduation. The backdrop with its bookshelves certainly gives it a scholarly feel. Note the very special rocking chair used as a prop.
