This exaggerated engraving of Willamette Falls was published in The West Shore magazine in Portland in August of 1887.
While the actual height of the falls is impressive enough at 45 feet, this view makes it seem like they are twice that high.
The two insets add to the interest, showing the locks on the west side and the boat basin for mills on the Oregon City side.
