Crater Lake from the South Rim - c. 1910

This colorful view of Crater Lake is recreated from a hand-tinted photograph produced by Fred Kiser in about 1910. Of course, Kiser himself did not do the tinting - often he had a group of assistants that would add color to his black and white photos. Each had their own style and palette; thus the final image can vary according to who was applying the color.
