Pinnacles formed by erosion around ancient volcanic vents can be seen on the right slope of Annie Creek Canyon, located near Mazama Village at Crater Lake. Annie Creek was named in 1865 for Annie Gaines, one of the first two white women to descend to the edge of Crater Lake.
Photographer Fred Kiser created many hand-tinted photos of the Crater Lake area. We have a number of them available on this site.
