Nora Kidd worked alongside her husband James P. Kidd as an early photographer in southeast Oregon.
Nora Kidd worked alongside her husband James P. Kidd as an early photographer in southeast Oregon. Here we see her in front of their home in Diamond, where they lived before moving to Ontario in about 1898.
Detail view 2 shows a removable canvas roof for what appears to be their studio. Before electricity, prints had to be made by daylight allowed through the roof to expose the photo paper. Nora was a local, the daughter of pioneer sheepman J. H. Seaweard.
