This view by Eddy is as much about the new highway as it is about the scenic Heceta Head Lighthouse.
This view by Eddy is as much about the new highway as it is about the scenic Heceta Head Lighthouse. Until this section of the Oregon Coast Highway was completed between Florence and Yachats in 1932, there was no year-round access to the lighthouse - for either tourists or lighthouse keepers.
The two families that ran the lighthouse had their own school for their seven children next to their homes.
