We know from his diploma on the wall that this is Dr. J. S. Walter, who came to Oregon in the late 1880s, practicing in Ashland and then in Eugene.
We know from his diploma on the wall that this is Dr. J. S. Walter, who came to Oregon in the late 1880s, practicing in Ashland and then in Eugene. The unknown woman in the chair looks pretty relaxed considering her situation.
Drills in those days were foot-pedal powered, similar to old sewing machines. I don't see any sinks, though detail view 2 does reveal a pitcher and a spittoon.
