There are not a lot of windows in this view of a Marshfield boiler room, so the photographer has opened the doors to bring in some light. There's also a light source behind us, illuminating the faces of the workers. The original photo is about 5 x 7 inches and is card mounted. In 1910 this means it was likely printed from a 5 x 7 glass plate. While the scene is dark, there are lots of visible details. I especially like the scrawled notations on the first boiler on the right. -- This photo is restored and printed by Old Oregon.
