Many early hotels were served by their own or independent stage lines. Here the Welches Stage is picking up or delivering passengers at the Sandy Hotel, in Sandy, Oregon. The Welches Stage Line ran from about 1901 to 1911 between Sandy, Boring and Welches, and possible even to Maupin. The Sandy Hotel was the second hotel in Sandy, and operated from 1890 until it burned in 1923.
