Vancouver Barracks is but one name given to the U.S. military installation in Vancouver, Washington, adjacent to the old British Fort Vancouver. Originally called Camp Columbia, then Columbia Barracks, then Fort Vancouver, the War Department officially adopted the name Vancouver Barracks in 1879. In this view, the parade grounds stand empty. See Related Photos below to see troops drilling on them about 25 years later. -- This photo is restored and printed by Old Oregon.
