Two young cowboys from Heppner visit the photographer's studio to have their portraits made. Both are wearing their working chaps - a full fur set for the man on the left. The imprint on the original photo is from Gilhousen Brothers of Heppner. William Gilhousen opened one of the first photography studios in The Dalles in 1878, where he worked for at least ten years. Sometime after his stint in Heppner, he moved to the Los Angeles area. -- This photo is restored and printed by Old Oregon.
