While Timberline Lodge was dedicated by FDR in the fall of 1937, it was not officially open to the public till February 4th, 1938. This classic view was created by Ralph Eddy on February 16th. It turned out to be one of Eddy's best-selling postcards views of the lodge, and you can see why. With snow-draped trees in the foreground and the pristine mountain behind, he composed an ideal frame for this new Oregon icon.
