While we've referred to these as the Sunset schools, at the time they were known as the West Oregon City schools, as West Linn did not yet exist. The future town of West Linn was then composed of three small communities - Bolton, near the bridge, West Oregon City (later Sunset) up the hill, and Willamette (previously Hardscrabble), towards the Tualatin. Detail view 1 gives us a better view of the young students.
