Our version is restored from a boudoir card created by David C. Herrin, when his studio was located in Lakeview. The composition of this photo makes it look like the fledgling town was in the middle of nowhere, but it actually served a growing agricultural area, with cattle, grains, fruit and vegetables. Its population is now about 400.
