The pipeline dredge USS Multnomah was built in 1913 by Portland Iron Works. This photo was taken that same year. Part of the fleet of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, the Multnomah was used on the Willamette and Columbia Rivers. It was non-propelled, 265 feet long and 35 feet wide, and carried a crew of 54.
While not overly detailed, this is a very handsome view, with great reflections in the calm waters of the Willamette.
