This dramatic photo of the Oregon coastline was originally created by Ralph Eddy for one of his postcard views. Using his original negative, we have restored it to support much larger prints.
By 1930, when this photo was taken, the Oregon Coast Highway through Oregon was mostly complete, allowing car travelers to visit many previously inaccessible areas. However, bridges across some of the larger rivers had yet to be built, so a trip up or down the coast required multiple ferry crossings.
