Tumwater Falls, the traditional name of the main part of Celilo Falls, on the Columbia River.
Tumwater Falls is the traditional name for the main part of Celilo Falls, on the Columbia River.
J. G. Crawford was an accomplished photographer, and in my opinion this view is one of his best. The placement of the two Native American men at the edge of the falls, combined with the overall lighting and apparent oncoming storm, make this a photo that is both beautiful and poignant.
