This print is recreated from a large (23 inch wide) hand-tinted photograph, signed in the image by Winter Photo Co. Clarence Winter was briefly a partner with Fred Kiser, and went out on his own in 1915.
Some of his images begin with photographs taken by Kiser. The tint was often added by master colorist Frederic Luetters, who had also worked with Kiser. Winter and Luetters only produced colored photos like this for three years, as Winter discontinued this media after Luetters left in 1918 to fight in the World War.
