This view by Edward Curtis shows a Klamath chief in a ceremonial headdress looking out across Crater Lake, in the western end of the Klamath territory.
The current Klamath Tribe includes the Klamath, Modoc and Yakooskin peoples of southwest Oregon and northern California. At their termination of 1954, the Klamath tribe was the second wealthiest tribe in the United States.
Their tribe was restored by the federal government in 1986, and celebrates the 35th anniversary of that restoration in 2021.
