As the detail views demonstrate, there's a lot to see here, from the Cliff House in the foreground - the rear portion of which housed the 1848 session of the Territorial Legislature, to the tents on the island below the falls, to the trolley line to Willamette on the hillside in the background.
The long brick building comprised the woolen mills proper, which ran from 1864 until the mid-twentieth century, and for decades was one of the area's largest employers.
