The name for the club came from the early logo for the YMCA, which consisted of an inverted triangle, with the words "body" "mind" and "spirit" on the three sides. In detail view 2 you can see the inverted triangle being worn on the chest of one young man. Certainly the act of climbing Mount Hood would involve all three of those aspects.
