This highly detailed view of the west side of the Willamette River at the Falls was created by Howard Tibbitts, a San Francisco based photographer. Tibbits worked for the Southern Pacific Railroad for 40 years starting in 1892.
His work was featured in the railroad's magazine "Sunset" starting with its first issue in 1898. According to Tibbit's notes with the original glass negative, this is half of a larger panorama. The location of the other half is unknown, at least to me.
