From the parking lot and trailhead at Wahkeena on the Columbia River Historic Highway you can see the lower falls, which are a series of small cascades that pass under Highway 30. A short walk up the paved trail will take you though a switchback and then open up to a view of the Upper Falls, shown here.
If you're up for a longer walk, you can continue on the trail to Multnomah Falls, which takes you by Fairy Falls and Weisendanger Falls. This crisp century-old image of the upper falls is from an original glass negative by George M. Weister.
