Snoqualmie Falls are located about 30 miles east of Seattle. A long-standing tourist attraction, they host about 1.5 million visitors per year. While it is hard to tell from this angle, this photo was likely taken before the first hydro-electric plant was built in 1899. It is definitely before the first tourist lodge was constructed in 1919.
In 2009, the falls were formally listed in the National Register as a traditional cultural property for their association with the beliefs of the Snoqualmie people.
