Looking east towards Oneonta Bluff, before the Columbia River Highway tunnel was bored through it to the right of the railroad tracks. The railroad bridge spans Oneonta Creek, and upstream to the right is the often-photographed Oneonta Gorge.
Of interest is that photos from 1895 till now all show what appears to be the same tree at the top of the bluff, which due to the shallow soil has not grown significantly in one hundred plus years.
