Oneonta Gorge, in the Columbia River Gorge, as captured by J. G. Crawford in the 1880s.
Oneonta Gorge has been designated by the Forest Service as a botanical area, because of the unique collection of aquatic and woodland plants that grow there. These plants, along with spectacular rock formations, are clearly visible in this 1880s view by James G. Crawford of Albany.
Crawford often placed people in his scenic photos. See Detail 1 for a close-up.
