Taken shortly before he moved back to Boston, Partridge captured this view of the falls by stepping back and to the right, giving a different angle than many of the straight-ahead shots of his day. The original timber bridge has already been reinforced, as shown in detail view 1. In detail view 2 we can see an early building, most likely owned by the Oregon-Washington Railroad and Navigation Company, whose train up the Columbia Gorge stopped at the falls. -- This photo is restored and printed by Old Oregon.
