This early view of construction on the south side of the falls shows a variety of activities going on.
This early view of construction on the south side of the falls shows a variety of activities going on. One of those may be the construction of Station A, the site of the first long-distance transmission of electricity, which would be just out of the image to the right.
Massive timbers and rock are the materials of choice, and can be seen better in detail views 1 and 2. Many of this crew may have worked on the construction of the locks on the other side of the river, which occurred only a few years earlier.
