Our hand-tinted original print is taken from "Crater Lake National Park, Oregon", published by Swem's Studio, Medford, Oregon. Thomas Swem was himself a photographer, having moved to Medford from Minnesota in 1913. However, his studio also sold prints by Frank Patterson, so it's possible this is a Patterson photograph.
The scene shows the docks at Crater Lake that were in use at that time; the first documented boat on the lake was launched in 1869. Individual row boats were allowed until 1974. Since then, only guided launches can be found on the lake.
