The horseshoe of the road in this photo is a wonderful shape, almost filling the frame of the image and pushing against its borders.
The horseshoe of the road in this photo is a wonderful shape, almost filling the frame of the image and pushing against its borders. I've placed the location in Josephine County, though it could be just across the border in California, on the way down the pass towards Crescent City from Grants Pass.
Detail view 1 shows several structures on the inside of the horseshoe, each with wooden ramps facing the road. These are likely road maintenance buildings, built to shelter equipment from the winter snow.
