A number of overview photos of Oregon City were taken from the "back side", due to great vantage points from the bluffs behind the town.
A number of overview photos of Oregon City were taken from the "back side", due to great vantage points from the bluffs behind the town. This particular view is recreated from an early glass negative, and shows the mix of stores and residences in lower downtown, including the Pope Hardware building (shown in detail view 1) and the Charman Block.
The suspension bridge at this point is about five years old.
