A young man poses with his high wheeler bicycle on the west end of the old Oregon City suspension bridge - the original "bridge to nowhere". The attribution for the bridge came from the fact that there wasn't a whole lot going on at this end of the bridge; the incorporation of West Linn was a good fifteen years away.
But mills already existed on this side of the river, and one reason for the bridge was to allow workers from Oregon City to cross the river to get to work. The bicycle itself was nearing the end of its fairly short era - already being replaced by the more modern safety bicycle we know today.
