It's hard to tell whether the sign "Why Not Eat" indicates the name of this cafe, or simply asks the question.
It's hard to tell whether the sign "Why Not Eat" indicates the name of this cafe, or simply asks the question. In either case, this is a highly-detailed view of Government Camp in the late 1920s, when it was still the main staging area for winter trips to Mount Hood.
Note the bamboo poles and wooden skis in detail view 1, and the sign offering hot tamales, chili, candy and tobacco in detail view 2.
