Clara Hartman and an identified man (her father?) show off two teams next to their small barn in Dallas, Oregon.
Clara Hartman and an identified man (her father?) show off two teams next to their small barn in Dallas, Oregon. Other town buildings can be seen in the background.
Clara writes on the back of the image of recently moving to Dallas from Albany, Oregon - a larger town. It appears the family runs some type of hauling business, as a wagon labeled "job wagon" is visible on the left, and another is on the right. Plenty of inexpensive lumber is in use as decking to allow them and their horses a respite from the Oregon mud.
