This is the 50 by 100 foot great hall at Paradise Inn, which opened in 1917. With large stone fireplaces at each end, it is certainly an impressive space.
This is the 50 by 100 foot great hall at Paradise Inn, which opened in 1917. With large stone fireplaces at each end, it is certainly an impressive space. The original photo's notes state that the height of the ridge pole is 78 feet above the lobby floor.
Large tables and other furniture were constructed from cedar logs. Detail view 1 gives us a better view of the Japanese style lanterns hung far above the floor. Detail view 2 shows some of the furniture, as well as a corner of a topographic model of the mountain and surrounding area.
