This hand-tinted photo was taken from about half-way up Garfield Peak, where a trail was built between 1905 and 1910. Dutton Cliff is the formation above Phantom Ship island. Behind the rim can be seen Mt. Scott. Probably taken in early fall, as snow has fallen. If taken in the spring, winter snow would have hampered travel.
