Car camping was popular by 1916, and setups often involved pitching a tent over the car itself, as can be seen by two sets of campers in the foreground. I've titled this image the "newly completed" lodge, but the photo may have been taken slightly before the lodge opened in 1915. A close look at detail view 1 shows lumber stacked outside the lodge, and from the lack of cars near the lodge it's very possible the interior was not yet ready to receive guests.
