The current Klamath Tribes are a federally recognized confederation of three tribes who traditionally lived in the area - the Klamath, the Modoc, and the Yahooskin. The tribal government is based in Chiloquin, Oregon.
Recently, the Klamath Tribes entered into an agreement to purchase back part of their traditional land - the 90,000 acre Mazama forest - with support from The Trust for Public Land.
