This three-engine Fokker, provided by the Army Air Corps, was one of two official airplanes for the four week Tour, during which 33 airplanes and their passengers traveled over 6,000 miles. The planes attracted crowds wherever they touched down, and this stop in Portland on July 16th was no exception. You can read more in a book, "The Ford Air Tours, 1925 - 1931". Besides providing a great adventure for the passengers, the tour awarded the Edsel Ford Reliability Trophy at the end of the competition. -- This photo is restored and printed by Old Oregon.
