Dye houses were more than just "rooms" in a woolen mill; they were often built as separate buildings due to the fire hazard from the fully dried wool prepared for dying. This view shows the multiple large wooden vats, where the often brilliant colors in the Jacobs blankets were infused into the wool fibers. -- This photo is restored and printed by Old Oregon.
