On December 28, 1922, the new Arch Bridge across the Willamette River between Oregon City and West Linn was dedicated. Photographer Ralph Eddy captures the view from below. We can't see much of the activities, but a highlight of the festivities was a wedding on the bridge, between Ella Averta Parker of West Linn and Louis E. Hartke Jr. of Oregon City. Ninety years later, after the bridge was restored, fifty couples renewed their vows on the bridge to honor that marriage and the bridge that connects the two communities.
