Originally called the Rocky Creek Bridge when completed in 1927, this bridge was soon re-named for Ben Jones, who was called the "Father of the Coast Highway" for his legislative support of the highway project. One of the most beautifully sited bridges in the state, the bridge spans a small gorge in a picturesque section of the Oregon Coast.
It is now bypassed and provides only local service along Otter Crest Loop Road. One of many bridges designed by Conde McCullough, its image here was captured by Newport photographer Albert L. Thomas, not long after it opened.
