The Harbor of Sitka, Alaska, in 1886, showing the steamship dock and Sitka Sound.
This 1886 view of the Harbor at Sitka, Alaska, was made by William H. Partridge of Portland, Oregon. Taken from Castle Hill, we can see the old Russian warehouse buildings and the steamship dock.
The ship is probably the Ancon, an older steamship built in 1865. Behind the ship are the islands in the Sitka Sound. The islands are no longer separate, having been filled in during WWII.
