This logging photo is a bit older than most, and is recreated from a boudoir card image printed and sold by Isaac G. Davidson - who at the time had arguably the largest photo business in Oregon.
This logging photo is a bit older than most, and is recreated from a boudoir card image printed and sold by Isaac G. Davidson - who at the time had arguably the largest photo business in Oregon. Logging views were not his specialty; this only one I have seen.
It shows a bearded logger, working by himself at this stage, who has not one, but two springboards. Apparently he made the decision to add a second board to allow him to work higher up, where the tree was not quite as large in diameter, saving him a couple hours making the saw cut.
