The Crooked River High Bridge was completed in 1926, four years before this photo was created. Like many other arched bridges in Oregon, it was designed by Conde McCullough. With a main span of 330 feet, the bridge is 295 feet above the canyon floor.
Eventually unable to keep up with increased traffic and larger vehicles, the High Bridge was replaced by a wider bridge in 2000. The older bridge continues in use for pedestrians.
